Scientific Information

Activities

To ensure that the scientific sessions run smoothly, all speakers are kindly requested to be promt and strictly on time.
Chairmen are requested to respect the initial times of each session and the time assigned to each presentation.
One minute before the end of each presentation a visual signal in the meeting room will inform the speaker that his/her assigned time is about to expire. The audio will automatically switch off at the end of the assigned time.
The duration of each presentation will be communicated to the speakers before the congress.

Preliminary Program

The Preliminary Program is regularly updated and available on this website.

Highlight Lecture

The Highlight Lectures are lectures given by top national and international experts in their field and are based on particular interest topics.

Simposia

The Simposia, which are of particular relevance in the program, will be based on controversial topics approached in a critical way.

Instructional Course

Each Instructional Course Session will focus on actual topics approached through an educational lens.

Oral Communication and E-poster

Oral Communications and E-Poster Sessions will be organized by topic.

Best Paper

The 6 (six) best abstracts submitted for the participation in the “Best Paper” selection will be presented as oral communications during the dedicated session.

The Authors of the six selected oral communications must send the text in full and in English by July 27th, 2018 for publication on the scientific journal JOINTS.

To be able to proceed with the on-line submission authors must log-in to the website www.jointsjournal.eu. Authors will be supported step by step during the entire submission process and they will be notified by email once they have completed a correct submission.

AWARDS

SIGASCOT will award 2 prizes for:

  • BEST PAPER: selected among the 6 (six) “Best Papers” and will represent SIGASCOT at the National Society Award Session during the 19th ESSKA Congress in Milan in 2020.
    A prize will be awarded to the Author/Presenting Author of the Best Paper that will include hotel accommodation, travel and free registration to the ESSKA Congress.
  • BEST POSTER: the prize will include free registration to one SIGASCOT Cadaverlab

AWARD CEREMONY

The Award Ceremony for the Best Paper and Best Poster will take place on Friday, October 5th at 12.00.
To be eligible to receive the prize you must be registered to the Congress and be present during the Award Ceremony.

Abstract publication

The abstracts accepted as Best Papers, Oral Communications and E-Posters will be published on www.sigascot2018.it, in the area reserved to all delegates registered to the Congress.

Slide Center

Only computer projection from the slide center will be possible, while it will not be possible to connect the personal laptop directly to the projector.
All presentations will be automatically projected in the pertinent meeting room.
Speakers are kindly invited to use PowerPoint for Windows and to give their presentation to the Slide Center on a CD or USB (pen-drive).

PowerPoint presentations on CD Rom or pen-drive must be uploaded at the Slide Center at least 1 hour before each presentation or during the evening before.
Presentations on personal laptop must be uploaded at the Slide Center at least 2 hours before each presentation or during the evening before.
Video projection: DVD videos or videos not included in the presentation must be uploaded at the Slide Center at least 3 hours before the beginning of the Session or during the evening before.
